Terms of Service

Plain English. Here's exactly how service works and what we each agree to.

By signing up for any Country Cousins Waste Services service, you agree to these terms. If you have questions, call or text us at (972) 643-8868. We’re happy to walk you through anything.

1. Pickup Schedule

  • All carts and dumpsters must be at the curb or accessible for pickup by 6 a.m. on your assigned pickup day. We do not guarantee a specific pickup time. Trucks run their route in order and arrival times vary.
  • Routes run Monday–Friday. Your specific pickup day is assigned based on your address and route zone.
  • When a major holiday falls on or before your pickup day, your route shifts by one day. Planned holiday closures: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
  • We reserve the right to delay or suspend service during severe weather, unsafe road conditions, or other circumstances beyond our control. We’ll notify customers by email or Facebook when delays are expected.

2. Trash Preparation and Bagging

  • All trash should be bagged and tied before being placed in the cart. Loose, unbagged trash may not be collected.
  • Bags should be between 13 and 32 gallons, with a recommended maximum of 20 lbs per bag.
  • Please keep the cart lid able to close fully. Overfilled carts that prevent the lid from closing may not be emptied or may incur additional fees.
  • Cardboard boxes should be broken down flat before being placed in the cart or left at the curb alongside it.
  • Loose or unbagged trash left outside the cart may not be collected and may result in additional fees.

3. Accepted and Prohibited Waste

We accept standard household trash: bagged kitchen waste, bathroom waste, paper, packaging, and similar everyday items.

The following items are prohibited from all route service, including poly carts and dumpsters. Items on this list will not be collected and may result in additional fees:

  • Construction debris
  • Concrete, dirt, and rocks
  • Tires
  • Batteries (any type)
  • Motor oil
  • Chemicals of any kind
  • Paint (liquid or in open containers)
  • Hazardous materials
  • Large furniture (sofas, recliners, bed frames)
  • Appliances
  • Mattresses
  • Sharp metal objects (sheet metal, rebar)
  • Barbed wire
  • Dead animals or animal feces
  • Propane tanks
  • Shingles
  • Glass (loose or uncontained)
  • Burn barrel contents

If you’re not sure whether an item is accepted, call or text us before putting it in the cart.

4. Billing and Payments

  • Invoices for monthly service are sent 14 days before the due date and are due within 14 days of the invoice date, unless other arrangements have been made.
  • A $15 late fee may be applied to any invoice not paid by its due date.
  • Service may be placed on hold for non-payment and will resume after the outstanding balance is paid.
  • Accepted payment methods: Square (Credit Card, Cash App, ACH), Zelle, or Check. We do not accept cash.
  • Do not tape payments to carts or hand them to drivers. Payments must be made through an approved method listed above. Payments left on carts or handed to drivers will not be accepted, and we cannot be responsible for them.

5. Missed Pickups and Service Resumption

  • If we missed your stop: contact us promptly and we’ll return as soon as we’re able to, typically the next business day, at no charge. The sooner you reach out, the faster we can make it right.
  • If your cart wasn’t out when our truck came through: that’s a missed pickup on your end. Return trips are available for a fee and are subject to driver availability. Contact us to schedule one.
  • We are not responsible for missed pickups caused by carts being blocked, inaccessible, or not at the curb by 6 a.m.

6. Trash Carts

  • All poly carts provided by Country Cousins remain the property of Country Cousins Waste Services.
  • Customers are responsible for the cart while it’s on their property. Loss or damage due to neglect or misuse may result in a replacement fee.
  • Carts must be empty and available for retrieval at the time of cancellation. Missing or damaged carts at cancellation will result in replacement fees.
  • Do not use the cart for prohibited items, burning, or any purpose other than household trash storage.

7. Weekly Dumpster Service

  • Weekly dumpster service requires a 12-month minimum term due to delivery and setup costs. If you cancel before the end of the term, you agree to pay an early termination fee equal to the remaining monthly charges for the balance of the term, plus a dumpster retrieval fee. The parties agree this amount is a reasonable estimate of Country Cousins’ losses, including delivery, setup, and lost service revenue, and is not a penalty.
  • Dumpsters are serviced on the same weekly route day as poly cart customers in your area.
  • The prohibited items list in Section 3 applies to dumpsters. Do not place prohibited items in the dumpster.
  • Dumpsters remain the property of Country Cousins Waste Services at all times. Do not modify, relocate, or allow others to use the dumpster without our permission.
  • Dumpsters must be accessible to our truck on route day. Blocked or inaccessible dumpsters will not be serviced and are not eligible for credit.

8. Conduct Policy

We treat every customer with respect and expect the same in return. Abusive, threatening, or harassing behavior toward our team — in person, by phone, by text, or online — is grounds for immediate termination of service without refund of any prepaid amounts. We’re your neighbors and we’re here to help.

9. Refund Policy

We do not issue refunds for services already rendered. Any refund of prepaid amounts will only be issued once our carts are returned in good condition, and less any fees to retrieve, clean, or repair them. 10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any disputes arising from these terms or our services will be handled in the courts of Collin County, Texas.

11. Agreement

By signing up for service with Country Cousins Waste Services — whether online, by phone, or by text — you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms of Service. These terms may be updated from time to time, and material changes will be communicated in advance.
